Bruno Castro

Founder & CEO of VisionWare. Graduated in Electrical Engineering since 2000, by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, he obtained a Master's degree in Computer Engineering (Information Security), by the same faculty, the following year. In 2010, he completed an MBA in Business Management at the EUDEM Business School, in association with several international business schools.
Before founding VisionWare, he built his professional career in several renowned companies, such as Critical Software, WhatEverNet, Novabase Consulting, and Quatro, as well as participating in several national and international Computer Security communities. Currently, and in the role of Managing Director, he sits on the Board of Directors of VisionWare.
He has actively participated in the implementation of VisionWare's internationalization strategy, both on the European and African continent, and in the consolidation of VisionWare's positioning as an important reference with the European Commission, having been directly involved in the FORENSOR, CYSPA and LASIE projects. He was responsible for managing the NATO project, classified as SECRET, with the Algerian Ministry of Defense.
In the area of ​​computer security, where he has relevant technical skills, he has performed tasks in consulting, auditing and resource management projects, thus obtaining extensive experience in the main areas of competence within the discipline of Computer Security.
He is NATO-SECRET and EU-SECRET accredited, and is still part of the National Security Bureau's accredited group of security auditors. He is also Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer in ISO/IEC27001 and BS25999 assigned by the British Standards Institute (BSI).
Specialist in the themes of Information Security, Cybersecurity and Forensic Investigation, he writes regularly for various media and participates in several higher education courses in the main Portuguese University Institutions.

Sérgio Silva

Founder of CYBERS3C, he holds a Master's degree in Information Security from Instituto Superior Técnico, Escola Naval and Faculdade de Direito, and is a PhD candidate in Cybersecurity at Nova IMS.
For more than twenty years he was in Public Administration, having been responsible for European projects such as ECLI and E-CODEX. He is a professor at Universidade Lusófona, Universidade Ocidental, Coimbra Business School and Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya, Director of ANCIBER-Academia Nacional de CiberSegurança and Member of the Advisory Board of CIONET. He is currently developing research in the area of artificial intelligence at CyberWar.

João Emílio Almeida

Computer Engineer (ISEP), Doctor of Computer Engineering (FEUP), Researcher at LIACC (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science-Univ.Porto), Consultant, trainer and programmer in several companies since 1984. Analyst-programmer in an insurance company between 1989 and 2003.
Senior Member and Security Specialist of the Order of Engineers; Lecturer in higher education, Director of the Degree in Computer Engineering at ISTEC-Porto, Coordinator of CTeSP in Information Networks and Systems, President of the Technical-Scientific Council at the same institution. He is also Director of CITECA-Center for Research in Advanced Technologies.

Pedro Cordeiro

Pedro is a Cyber Security engineer at Critical Software, with experience in implementing security practices in Software Development Lifecycle, such as security requirements identification, secure coding, security testing and vulnerability management. Pedro has also worked as a developer, system and performance tester and DevOps engineer in the Energy and Security sectors.

Shazia Tabassum

Shazia Tabassum is a researcher at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD), INESC TEC Porto. She obtained her Ph.D. in Informatics Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto in Portugal. She also holds the degrees of Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Applications from India. During the past eight years, she contributed to research in the areas of Fraud Detection, Data Science and Machine Learning applied in the domains such as Telecommunications, Marketing, and Social Media by working in European research projects and industry collaborations. She authored a number of publications including book chapters, high quality journals and conference proceedings at notable venues (IEEE, Wiley, Springer, Cambridge and ACM). She served as a reviewer in several indexed Journals/conferences and also as a co-chair of the special sessions/workshops including Evolving Networks DSAA'17, Discovery Challenge EPIA'17 and MobDM IEEE MDM'16.

David Sopas

David Sopas is a highly experienced security researcher with over 15 years of experience in the field of information security. He is currently the COO of Char49, a leading security firm that specializes in protecting against cyber threats. Throughout his career, David has established a reputation as a thought leader in the industry, having spoken at many of the world's top security conferences including Defcon, RSA, and APISecure. David has a particular interest in IoT hacking and is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others in the community. He is a respected voice in the information security industry and an expert on how to keep organizations and individuals safe from cyber attacks.

João Resende

João Resende is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics at the NOVA School of Science and Technology in Lisbon. He received his PhD in Computer Science in 2021 through a collaborative effort between the Universities of Minho, Aveiro, and Porto. After earning his PhD, he worked as a researcher at the Center of Competence in Cyber Security and Privacy (C3P), where he managed projects such as the CyberSec4Europe initiative. Additionally, he is a co-founder of INSIGHTSEC, a company that helps small and medium-sized enterprises transition to a more secure and digital environment.

Rui Cascão

Rui Cascão holds a Degree in Law from the University of Coimbra (1999) and a PhD in Law from the University of Tilburg, Netherlands (2005). He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusófona do Porto. He has taught and developed research in several teaching institutions: Tilburg University, The Netherlands (2000-2005); Karl-Franzens-University of Graz, Austria (2006-2008); Biomedical Law Centre of Coimbra University (since 2001); Legal and Judicial Training Centre of Macau, China (2009-2016) and ISIT-University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (2021-2022). He was Legal Advisor in the Government of Macau, China (Office for Legal Reform, Legal Reform and International Law Bureau, Justice Affairs Bureau) from 2008-2021, with responsibility for legislative production, legal reform and international and regional law matters.
He is the author of several scientific productions in the area of civil, commercial, European and biomedical law and has participated in high-impact international research projects, such as the “Study Group on a European Civil Code (SGECC)”. He is also a DPO certified by the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands (ECPC-B) and a member of the board of the Portuguese Association of Health Law (ALDIS). He is fluent in Portuguese, English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch and Macedonian. He is currently developing research on international and European health law; law and technology; fundamental rights and civil law; as well as the new horizons of the law of persons.
